Custom Electric Motor for Kiteboat

Engineering Design Lab (EDL) developed a custom submerged pod motor for the Kai Concepts Kiteboat, a foiling trimaran. EDL engineered a direct-drive architecture, eliminating traditional shafts and gearboxes, and optimized the motor for quiet operation and efficient thermal management using water cooling. This project demonstrates EDL's expertise in designing purpose-built electric motors that reduce mechanical complexity for high-speed maritime solutions.
